It's not about discipline

When people fail at dieting (over and over!), it's not because they lack discipline. It's because the concept of dieting is flawed. It's a setup for failure.

There's a research study that was reported in the 1950s that illustrates the destructive side of dieting. Researchers selected a small sample of men, choosing them to participate in the study because they deemed them healthy, bright, and psychologically well-adjusted.

These men were put on a diet for six months, and researchers studied how they adjusted to their normal eating patterns following the diet. Guess what happened? They binged, they became obsessed with thoughts of food and eating. They developed bizarre eating rituals (sneaking food), they expressed self-disgust. Sound familiar?

Most of my clients have experienced the indulgence-guilt-deprivation cycle of eating over and over. I work with my clients to examine the underlying reasons that they go to food that they KNOW is unhealthy. Together, we peel back the layers of what drives them to food, of what keeps them from following through on what they know makes them healthy and happy.

When people carry extra weight, it's a mechanism that they're using to communicate with themselves. Come and work with me to discover that underlying message so that you can be free of the weight that's plagued you for too long.
